Based in Milan, SABIC Italia Spa., led by Managing Director Daniele Petrini, has 18 employees and currently serves more than 300 various sized companies in the chemicals and plastics sectors. The majority of clients operate in Northern Italy. The business activities of the Italian sales office are also supported by distributors who operate in specific areas.
Polyethylene (PE) is SABIC’ s highest-selling product in the Italian market, followed by chemicals & Intermediates and polypropylene (PP). Most of the PE and PP is processed into many different end products for the Italian consumer market, mainly films for packaging, but also other packaging products (such as bottles and containers) and pipes. Italy is SABIC’ s main market for sales of chemicals and intermediates such as glycols (MEG and DEG), and particularly for styrene monomer, which in Europe is sold only in Italy.
